Job Title: Outpatient Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PTA Outpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required License: Active state PTA license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year experience in outpatient physical therapy - No first-timers accepted - No weekend requirements - Not required to be on-call - No floating within the scope of practice Description: Position available for an Outpatient Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). The shift is 5x8 days, with a possibility for 4x10 schedules. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role. First-timers will not be considered. There are no weekend requirements for this position. A BLS certification and an active state PTA license are required for application. The facility does not require on-call availability. Traveling clinicians will not be required to float within scope to meet facility needs. The schedule is Monday to Friday, blocked. Local candidates are accepted, but pending licenses cannot be considered. The ideal time off should not exceed 5 days. Candidates may be called off up to 36 hours during a thirteen-week assignment without financial compensation for the canceled hours. If more than 36 hours are canceled, the client will pay for the shifts or portions of shifts canceled in excess. If candidates are put on-call instead of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift. Experience with outpatient physical therapy is essential. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The typical daily census is between 8-10 patients. A variety of diagnoses will be encountered, primarily orthopedic with some neurological cases. Essential skills include aquatic therapy, gait training, and various post-operative rehabilitation techniques. Floating may be preferred to other local outpatient locations. Candidates are required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. A minimum of 18 months experience is preferred, with some exceptions based on unit needs. All necessary compliance must be completed promptly to ensure a successful contract.
