Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
- Current state license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Arkansas required prior to start.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, including experience treating geriatric patients and providing home health services.
- Proof of current CPR/BLS certification required.
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance required. Ability to travel locally and provide care in patient homes.
- Ability to perform physical duties including lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, prolonged standing and walking.
- Demonstrated proficiency with documentation and timely submission of clinical paperwork.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, maintain confidentiality, and work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Preferred: Experience administering therapeutic modalities (heat, cold, electrical modalities), manual therapeutic exercises, and familiarity with home health scheduling and billing documentation.

Standard Job Description
The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of appropriate physical therapy services within a framework of interdisciplinary collaboration and consultation. Services are furnished under the supervision of a qualified Licensed Physical Therapist.
Essential Functions:
- Administer the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities as appropriate.
- Accurately document client status and submit clinical paperwork on time each week.
- Attend educational meetings and contribute to department in-services.
- Notify supervisory staff of equipment failures, supply shortages, client changes, or other departmental issues.
- Schedule clients and perform varied office tasks related to patient care delivery.
- Apply infection control practices and universal precautions during patient care activities.
- Accept clinical assignments consistent with education and competence.
- Promote compliance with fiscal intermediaries and third-party payors through education and coaching.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
