Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Michigan PTA license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience providing direct patient care in inpatient (IP) and skilled nursing unit (SNU) settings preferred.
• Experience with documentation and billing for visits required.
• Familiarity with EMRs preferred; facility will provide training for Net Health and CPSI.
• Ability to follow facility dress code: black pants or scrubs and any color shirt.
• Willingness to shadow another clinician for orientation as required by site.
• Candidate must complete required HR items prior to start, including HIPAA and CPS attestation forms.

Assignment Details

• Position: Interim Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• Facility type: Hospital with 47 acute care beds and 39 skilled nursing facility beds.
• Shift: Days.
• Shift days and hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Assignment length: 12 to 13 week assignment, with possibility of extension. Start ASAP.
• Guaranteed work week: 35 hours guaranteed, 40 expected.
• Patient volume: Treatment minutes vary daily; averages indicate heavy daily treatment load (330–420 minutes of treatment per day).
• EMR systems: Training provided for Net Health and CPSI; facility utilizes multiple EMRs.
• Floating: May be required to provide care across inpatient and SNU areas within the hospital.
• Weekend coverage: Potentially required.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to inpatient and skilled nursing patients under PT supervision.
• Perform evaluations and treatment plans as directed by supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document all visits and complete billing requirements in the facility EMR.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient discharge planning and continuity of care.
• Participate in facility orientation and shadowing as required prior to independent practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior inpatient experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with Net Health and CPSI is preferred.
