Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited educational program.
- Active PTA state license required at time of submission and to start the assignment. Compact licensure does not apply.
- Minimum 1+ year of PTA experience required. LTC or rehab experience required.
- New graduates considered only if they have Level II clinical experience (no Level I observation-only experience).
- Must provide resume, skills checklist within 1 year, and 0–1 reference at time of submission.
- BLS certification may be required from AHA or ARC.
- Ability to document in electronic medical record and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to perform interventions including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercise, modalities, and use of assistive devices under PT supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervising Physical Therapist, interdisciplinary team, patients, families, and caregivers.
- Willingness to participate in required meetings, in-services, and facility trainings.
- Preferred: experience supervising or supporting students under PT guidance.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Skilled Nursing Facility.
- Shift name: Days.
- Shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 5x8 hour days.
- Shift note: Start time should be before 6:00 AM and no later than 10:00 AM; times are flexible if consistent and communicated with Director of Rehab.
- Weekend requirement: No weekends.
- Assignment duration: 13 week travel assignment.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary PTA treatment interventions per supervising PT and regulatory requirements.
- Perform interventions such as manual techniques, ambulation training, therapeutic exercises, and use of assistive devices and modalities under PT direction.
- Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising PT to adjust treatment plans and document outcomes in the clinical record.
- Report treatment effectiveness and provide input for discharge summaries per clinical and regulatory requirements.
- Provide patient, family, and caregiver education and counseling related to physical disorders and home programs.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review, rehabilitation meetings, and required facility trainings.
- Support procurement of DME and supplies in collaboration with supervising PT.
- Supervise and support students when appropriate under PT guidance.
- Adhere to APTA and state practice acts, professional code of conduct, and ethics.
