Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: PT (Physical Therapist) Specialty: Physical Therapy (Home Health) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Must be able to provide physical therapy services in a home health setting. Description: This position involves providing physical therapy services in a home health setting. The average daily census for patients is 78 and is expected to grow with increased physical therapy availability. Staff members conduct start of care visits, particularly for orthopedic patients. The expected ratio is 5 visits per day. The electronic medical record system used is Netsmart. An intake RN and a manager oversee the nursing team in the office. There are nurse aides available to assist. Occasional weekend shifts for orthopedic patients may be required. Employees are generally off on holidays. Staff will be provided with a laptop for electronic medical record documentation. The service area primarily covers a specific county with some regions not within office range. Mileage for therapists averages around 40 miles per day, which may decrease with additional staffing and redistribution of patient loads. Common diagnoses include orthopedic joint replacements and geriatric patients with multiple comorbidities such as CHF and COPD. There are no vent patients or on-call requirements for this role. Shifts are strictly daytime hours. There is no formal floor-specific orientation required.
