Physical Therapy Assistant Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience required License: Must be currently credentialed by the state Physical Therapy Board. Certifications: Verification card of current instruction in BLS. Must-Have: Inpatient experience required. Description: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist. The PTA will implement selected components of patient/client interventions and obtain data related to the interventions provided. The PTA will make modifications in selected interventions to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort. PTAs assist in the treatment of individuals of all ages who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. Patient care is provided in in-patient, outpatient, and home health settings. The Physical Therapist Assistant reports directly to the Rehabilitation Manager. Astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, and administration are necessary. The ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring independent action and judgment, is essential. Must have the ability and competency to operate the equipment of this position, perform technical procedures, communicate professionally, and exercise supervision and management skills. Minimum of two years of primarily outpatient experience preferred. Bi-lingual capabilities are helpful. General work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work in a newly built Rehabilitation Gymnasium, in a clean, well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned area. Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases may occur.
