Job Title: Registered Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Clinical Pharmacy Duration: Full-time Shift: Varied evenings/overnights Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Graduate from an accredited school of Pharmacy with minimum of a BS in Pharmacy License: Current registration required Certifications: None specified Must-Have: Commitment to customer service and professional accountability Description: Under the general direction of the Director/Assistant Director/Manager of Pharmacy Services, the Registered Pharmacist provides indirect patient care. The Registered Pharmacist works with nurses, peers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team in the delivery of pharmaceutical services to patients. The Registered Pharmacist reviews the patient’s medication orders against the patient’s medication profile in accordance with pharmacy philosophy, policies, and procedures. The Registered Pharmacist demonstrates leadership and management skills and a commitment to customer service and professional growth. The role requires adherence to performance standards, policies, and behaviors. Utilizes all aspects of the pharmacy process to meet the specific needs of the patient in medication education, safety, and patient rights. Monitors methods of infection control and participates in relevant programs, demonstrating competency by completing all established standards. Utilizes appropriate decision-making processes that include recognition, data collection, and resource utilization while collaborating with the healthcare team. Maintains punctuality, observes time limits on breaks, and utilizes low activity periods for the benefit of the pharmacy and patients. Shows interest and commitment through attendance at in-services and participation in projects for professional development. Assumes accountability for completing competency standards and responds positively to constructive criticism. Demonstrates cooperation and professionalism in response to changes and assists peers with effective communication among the healthcare team. Maintains flexibility in staffing and adapts to assignments as needed. Keeps a positive attitude and responds effectively to conflict resolution. Practices cost containment measures and adheres to all policies and procedures, including dress code and code of conduct. Provides oversight and direction to Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Transporters. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
