Job Title: Director of Pharmacy

Location: Vernal, Utah
Schedule: Full-time, exempt

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Pharmacy to lead our pharmacy department and drive operational excellence. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of departmental operations, including patient care delivery, staffing, compliance, budgeting, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute care pharmacy and a passion for developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct departmental activities to achieve organizational and clinical objectives.

  • Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards in compliance with regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.

  • Evaluate and optimize pharmacy operations, including service delivery, technology, and patient care protocols.

  • Plan, monitor, and manage staffing activities, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.

  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring operations remain within allocated funding.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Foster an environment that encourages professional growth, teamwork, and collaboration.

  • Integrate evidence-based practices into operational and clinical protocols.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and organizational policies.

  • Oversee staff workflow, scheduling, and quality control standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Current Utah pharmacy license (or ability to obtain prior to start).

  • Bachelor s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school.

  • Acute care hospital pharmacy experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD).
