Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 12 months Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Licensed to practice Pharmacy in MO Certifications: ACLS / BLS preferred Description: Unit Information: Inpatient Pharmacy services the entire hospital with 285 beds in private rooms. The team consists of approximately 50 members including 30 pharmacists and 20 technicians. Day shift has the majority of pharmacists in decentralized roles with 2 in Main Rx. Evening shift includes 2 pharmacists in Main Rx and 2-3 technicians. Night shift is staffed with 1 pharmacist and 2 technicians. Equipment used includes Dose Edge, Pyxis, and Pak Edge with EMR - Meditech. Typical procedures performed on the unit: Vancomycin dosing, Aminoglycoside dosing, Anticoagulant dosing, and Pain consultations. Medication verification occurs as a standard practice. Supervising technicians in compounding sterile IVs using Dose Edge for verification. Duties include checking Pyxis, first doses, and managing emergency medication boxes. Dress Code: Scrub colors are flexible with no specific color requirement for the department. Additional Information: The unit features new equipment and technology.
