Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 12 months Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Licensed to practice Pharmacy in MO Certifications: ACLS / BLS preferred Description: Inpatient Pharmacy covers the entire hospital with 285 beds, all private rooms. The pharmacy team consists of approximately 50 members, including 30 pharmacists and 20 technicians. Day shift pharmacists are mostly decentralized with 2 in the main pharmacy. Evening shift has 2 pharmacists in the main pharmacy and 2-3 technicians. Night shift includes 1 pharmacist and 2 technicians. Equipment used includes Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge, and EMR - Meditech. The role involves Vancomycin, Aminoglycoside and Anticoagulant dosing. Pain consults and medication verification are routine tasks. Supervision of technicians compounding sterile IV is part of the responsibilities, using Dose Edge for verification. Verification of Pyxis, first doses, and emergency medication boxes also falls under this role. Scrub color is not specified for this department.
