Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of hospital experience preferred License: Active Pharmacist license with Texas State Board of Pharmacy Certifications: Proof of completion of 20-hour ACPE-accredited sterile compounding course Must-Have: Prior hospital experience (preferably at least 2 years) Proof of completion of a 20-hour ACPE-accredited sterile compounding course Description: The position involves data collection within a pharmacy unit. The unit contains 245 licensed beds and has 38 staff members. Staff includes pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, a pharmacy buyer, and technician specialists. The shift consists of both day and night coverage. Patient ratios vary based on daily patient census. No specific type of equipment is used in this role. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. Typical procedures include medication order verification and entry. Pharmacists supervise technical support personnel in drug preparation and distribution systems. A final dispensing check of all medication orders must be performed, and required documentation must be completed. Pharmacists review and monitor override reports along with other necessary reports. Ideal candidates for this position are humble, hungry, and smart. Rotating weekends occur due to a 7 on/7 off rotation. There is no on-call requirement for this role.
