The assignment will cover a leave of absence for 14 weeks. The schedule will be Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:15 PM, rotating weekends. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience as a Nursing Attendant. The completion of an approved Patient Care Associate training program is required. Candidates must possess a current BLS certification. Strong communication skills in English are essential. Experience with charting systems like Epic is preferred. The daily census includes managing 120 patients, with approximately 100 visits per day. Duties include measuring and recording intake and output, monitoring vital signs, providing hygiene assistance, and performing patient transportation. Working with special equipment such as vital sign machines and glucometers is expected. The unit supports an interdisciplinary approach with teams such as Social Services and Rapid Response teams. The Patient Care Technician will assist with various patient needs while maintaining safety and comfort. Rotating weekend coverage is part of the job expectations. Candidates may also be required to float to other units as needed. The role requires adherence to infection control protocols and safe patient transfer practices.
