Travel Pathology Assistant - $2,459 per week in Carbondale, IL

Day shift, 8-4 Monday thru Friday and no call. Position Summary Responsible for assisting with gross descriptions and dissection of surgical tissues; submits specimens for laboratory testing; summarizes patients medical history. Principal Accountabilities Standards of , Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, Stewardship, Accountability, Quality Education Master s degree in Health Science or Pathology Licenses and Certification ASCP Certification Experience and Skills Technical Experience: 1 yr in healthcare setting Physical Activities Intermittent hand manipulation required Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 lbs Role Specific Responsibilities Performs procedures within the specialty of the supervising physician Provides assistance with the gross description and dissection (examination) of surgical tissues. Submits specimens for histological and other laboratory testing. Summarizes patients medical history. Relates and functions effectively with the medical community, lab, and other hospital staff
