Job Opportunity – Surgical Trauma ICU RN – North Carolina

Start Date: February 16, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6 weekend shifts required, 6-week rotating schedule with modified self-scheduling

Highlights:

  • 20-bed Surgical Trauma ICU at an ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital
  • 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio with full support from supervisors, PCTs, and unit secretaries
  • Advanced critical care equipment including EVDs, CRRT, iCool machines, ventilators, and Cerner PowerChart documentation
  • Diverse case mix with exposure to complex procedures: intubation/extubation, chest tube and central line placement, CRRT, proning, TPA administration, and more
  • Collaborative ICU environment with floating opportunities to MICU, NSICU, CVICU, CICU, and Step Down units
  • Modified self-scheduling to support work-life balance

Requirements:

  • Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care ICU experience (LTAC not considered)
  • Trauma ICU experience from a Level I or Level II Trauma Center strongly preferred
  • Surgical ICU experience highly valued
