Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN License Certifications: Must-Have: BLS Preferred: NIHSS Description: The unit consists of 36 private rooms. It serves a patient population ranging from young adults to geriatric patients. Priority admission is given to patients requiring a medical level of cardiac care. Patients often require recovery from cardiac interventions. Interventions may include cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implantation. The unit also admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients. Staffing ratio is 1 nurse to 6 patients. Float to units of equal or lesser acuity is required. Every other weekend is required for scheduling. EPIC experience is required for this position. Travel experience is required. Patients may present with a variety of cardiac diagnoses. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Additional support services include pharmacy, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries. Nurses will manage a range of procedures including tracheostomy care and hemodialysis management. Also required are skills in accessing and managing ports, as well as telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation. Nurses will offer respiratory support and manage IV insulin protocols. Ongoing patient needs will include wound care and blood product administration.
