Requirements
• Degree from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan required.
• Valid CPR certification required.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required; three years preferred.
• Must reside within a 45-minute commute of the district to ensure timely on-site coverage.
• In-person services required; remote services will not be accepted.
Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care to students based on individual health needs and established care plans.
• Administer daily and PRN medications and nursing procedures as prescribed by a physician.
• Assess student health conditions and provide first aid and emergency care when needed.
• Notify parents or guardians when further medical evaluation or care is recommended.
• Maintain accurate and timely health documentation and records.
• Serve as a liaison between school staff, families, physicians, and community health providers.
• Educate school staff on health procedures and student medical needs.
• Initiate and coordinate emergency response procedures for students or staff as necessary.
• Provide health education and anticipatory guidance to support student wellness.
• Maintain clinic equipment and ensure necessary medical supplies are available.
• Assist with Medicaid billing documentation related to nursing services when applicable.
• Participate in professional development and district meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
