Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year preferred License: Valid state RN license required Certifications: BLS, CPI or MAB required Must-Have: 1. Previous charge experience preferred 2. Experience with patient ratios of 6:1 3. Experience charting in Epic preferred 4. Experience in community hospital settings preferred 5. Experience in LTAC preferred 6. Experience in trauma levels I & II preferred 7. Travel experience required Description: This position involves providing care in a behavioral health setting. Candidates must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience. The role includes working with diverse patient populations experiencing a range of mental health disorders. Experience with managing patients with eating disorders, forensic issues, and substance use disorders is essential. Skills required include crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and behavior management strategies. Nurses will be expected to administer medications, including antianxiety, antidepressants, and antipsychotics. Candidates must be skilled in administering IVs, blood glucose monitoring, and wound care. The role may include working on a locked unit with a focus on safety and security for vulnerable patient populations. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is a part of daily operations. Travelers may be required to float to similar units based on facility needs. Candidates should have foundational skills in managing assaultive behavior and conducting psychoeducation. The role will require adherence to seclusion protocols and mental health crisis management procedures.
