Job Title: Cardiac Progressive Care RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience License: RN License (proof of state residency required) Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Minimum of 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience - NH RN License or Compact License - BLS Certification - ACLS Certification Description: Cardiac Progressive Care RN needed for unit expansion. We have three needs for this role. The unit consists of 48 beds for step-down level of care for cardiology, electrophysiology, and cardiac surgical patients. Candidates will manage cardio-thoracic surgical patients, pre-and post-congestive heart failure patients, telemetry, vascular, pulmonary hypertension, temporary pacemakers, and more. RN patient ratios on days are 1:3, and on nights are 1:4-5, depending on acuity. Responsibilities include: - Managing chest tubes, tubes, and various drips such as diltiazem, heparin, lasix, insulin, or amiodarone. - Caring for lines, tubes, drains for post-surgical patients. - Assisting with tracheostomies, laryngectomies, telemetry, and complex wounds. - Providing central line care and maintenance, along with blood draws. - Conducting hemodynamic monitoring and invasive blood pressure monitoring through arterial lines. - Administering medications including nitroglycerin, primacor, dobutamine, dopamine, and low-dose pressors. - Operating Bi-PAP and C-PAP machines and managing external pacers, epicardial wires, and TR bands. This position requires a dedicated approach to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
