The shift is comprised of three 12-hour night shifts. The nurse will be responsible for patient care at a 1:4 ratio. The unit accommodates a diverse patient population. Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring is essential. Candidates must be proficient in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Experience with post cardiac interventions is required. Skills in IV access and management are mandatory. The role involves care for patients post-angiogram and post-surgery. Knowledge of renal failure management and hemodialysis is needed. Candidates must demonstrate respiratory care proficiency, particularly with ventilated patients. Experience in managing wounds and following isolation precautions is necessary. This is a fast-paced environment with a high patient throughput. Additional skills in orthopedic and neurological care are a plus. The nurse will float as needed within the facility based on patient care requirements. Availability to work every other weekend is required. Weekend coverage is part of the unit's staffing schedule. Training will be provided, but prior experience is essential for this role. This position may involve working during major holidays.
