Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of recent RN experience License: Ohio license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS required Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Candidates with experience in surgical care, burn care, wound care, flap monitoring, drain management, and post-operative care are strongly preferred. Description: This unit cares for a specialized surgical patient population. The patient population includes burns, plastic surgery including abdominal wall reconstruction, flaps, and leech therapy, urology patients, GYN surgery patients, ENT patients, and oral/maxillofacial surgery patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Daily census and other unit-specific details can vary. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Special procedures performed in this unit include leech therapy, flap checks, and burn dressings. Desired skills include management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, use of rapid response teams, IV management, and wound care. Floating to different units may be required as needed. Participation in weekend coverage may be expected. Professional references are required, including one from a leadership role. Candidates must have completed education from an accredited program.
