Job Title: Registered Nurse - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7P - 7A Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Intermediate/PCU level of care experience; Minimum of 2 years if only Med/Surg experience with some PCU. License: Current RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; AACCN and CCRN preferred. Must-Have: Experience with trauma patients and stroke patients. Ability to perform Q2H neuro checks. Experience with high flow O2, chest tubes, wound vacs, Bipap, and general drain/ostomy care. Knowledge of cardiac drips and insulin titration. Description: Immediate start needed. Unit is a Level II Trauma Center. The facility has 411 beds and provides a range of medical services. Cares for trauma level 2 patients, including neuro strokes and stable craniotomies. Manages medical/surgical respiratory illnesses such as COVID, flu, pneumonia, and respiratory failure. Handles cardiac cases including STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, and patients post cardiac procedures. Patient ratios are RN to patient 1:3-4 on nights, with a tech ratio of 1:6-12. Support staff includes CNAs, trauma surgery, and ICU-trained resources available 24/7. Charting is done in a preferred electronic health record system. RNs may float to various departments as necessary. Weekend rotations are required, generally every other weekend, with varying holiday expectations based on unit needs. Scrub color must be professional.
