Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required. Must have 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in high acuity PCU. Previous charge experience preferred. License: Compact or Kentucky State License required at time of submission. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Critical thinking skills. Ability to work with patients that may need rapid response. PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry experience required. Travel experience is required. Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The nurse will float to ICU or other PCU units as needed. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience. There is a requirement for 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in high acuity PCU. Float requirements include the ability to work in ICU as needed. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking skills. The work environment includes caring for transitional and progressive patients. Nurses will care for boarders from the emergency department until a service line bed is available. Management of dysrhythmias, central line care, phlebotomy skills, and starting and maintaining IVs are essential. The candidate must be able to interpret dysrhythmias. Daily responsibilities may include managing acute progressive patients. Modules and other compliance requirements must be fulfilled. Candidates must present time-off requests at the time of submission. Previous experience within the past year is mandatory. This position is not suitable for first-time travelers. The candidate will be required to float as needed within the facility. Ensure the ability to adapt to a block schedule if desired. Rehire eligibility must be checked prior to submission. Compliance with all required competencies and exams is necessary.
