Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Telemetry Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: May 4, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 24-hour orientation; weekend coverage required; may float to other units as needed

Highlights:

  • Progressive Care Step-Down unit with patient ratios of 3-4:1, with every effort to maintain 3:1
  • Medical-Surgical Telemetry ratios of 4-5:1, with all attempts to keep at 4:1
  • Epic charting system in use throughout the facility
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
  • Patient population includes post-surgical overflow, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and general medicine
  • One pre-approved time off period available during contract

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Active IV certification required
  • Must be able to pass telemetry competency assessment
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Valid Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; Charge RN acceptable for second reference

Essential Skills:

  • Telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote) with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • IV start and maintenance, including peripheral lines, central line care, and PICC line management
  • Blood product administration and phlebotomy
  • Titration of insulin drips and heparin protocols; IV insulin protocol management
  • PCA pumps, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
  • Oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Use of Rapid Response and Code teams
