Schedule: 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period, no call required
- 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care unit specializing in cardiac surgery and vascular surgery patients
- Care for complex patients including open heart surgery, TAVR, thoracic procedures, and vascular interventions
- Work in a Magnet-designated, top 1% nationally ranked hospital with Level II trauma center
- Utilize Cerner EMR with advanced equipment including Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps
- Manage cardiac drips, epidurals, chest tubes, and post-operative cardiovascular surgical patients
- Collaborative team environment with dedicated charge nurses, PCTs, and unit coordinators
- Current RN license in North Carolina (or compact state license)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Stepdown nursing experience required
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- Prior cardiovascular surgery or vascular surgery population experience within the past year strongly preferred
- CVICU experience preferred
- Competency in managing cardiac drips, epidurals, chest tubes, and tube feedings
- Flexibility to float to other stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed
