Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,066 per week in Asheville, NC

Start Date: February 23, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend rotation and holiday support required

Highlights:

• 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit with 2:1 ICU and 4-5:1 PCU patient ratios
• Staffing model includes 1 Charge RN (out of staffing) and 5 Staff RNs per shift
• Advanced critical care equipment including ventilators, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), lift equipment, and IV pumps
• Documentation via Cerner electronic medical record system
• Floating to other units as needed; relief charge nurses perform nurse leader rounding
• Mandatory bedside shift reporting with emphasis on patient experience

Requirements:

• Active RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Medical ICU experience in a large facility setting
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Advanced critical care skills: ventilator management, critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors), advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and central line management
• Ability to assist providers with bedside procedures including chest tube insertion, intubations, and other critical interventions
• Strong critical thinking, flexibility, and teamwork skills essential
