Job Opportunity – Progressive Cardiac Care RN – North Carolina**Start Date:** April 27, 2026
**Location:** Asheville, North Carolina
**Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants
**Schedule:** 40-bed cardiac stepdown unit; every other weekend required; nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4 (may stretch to 1:5)**Highlights:**- Cardiac progressive care unit specializing in CHF, MI, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedural cardiac patients- Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications required (nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drips, heparin)- Equipment includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners; Cerner EMR system- Collaborative team environment with dedicated charge nurses, bedside RNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries on each shift- Opportunity to work with advanced cardiac therapies including prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and bedside cardioversion procedures- Float opportunities to other medical-surgical, stepdown, and emergency holding areas**Requirements:**- Active RN license eligible for North Carolina- Progressive care or stepdown unit experience required- Telemetry monitoring experience required- Current BLS and ACLS certifications- Strong background managing titratable cardiac drips and critical cardiac medications- Dress code: All white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This cardiac stepdown unit offers nurses the chance to deliver specialized cardiovascular care to a diverse patient population recovering from acute cardiac events and procedures.
