Job Title: RN PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, ability to work with minimal supervision Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. This unit provides care to the adult population. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:3-5. The unit is supported by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring and monitor technicians is available for telemetry patients.
