Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Monitor and assess patient conditions including vital signs, neurological status, and respiratory function
- Administer medications, including life-support drugs, following strict protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and other specialists
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation as per facility standards
- Educate families on patient care, treatment plans, and post-discharge instructions
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and changes in patient status
Requirements of the Travel Nurse
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a PICU or similar critical care pediatric setting
