Job Title: RN - Pediatrics Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum years of experience required not specified License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: BLS, PALS required Description: This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team. The nursing process will be utilized while maintaining professional nursing standards. Staff is expected to float between birth center and pediatrics as needed. Essential Functions: Assesses and evaluates the patient's physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social, and educational needs. Documents patient and family responses to nursing interventions. Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve desired patient care outcomes. Develops and implements the patient's plan of care, including the discharge plan. Plans are based on standards of nursing practice and patient/family needs. Clinical and critical thinking skills are utilized throughout the care process. Reviews and updates the plan of care based on changes in the patient’s condition. Guides and directs patient care activities for the indicated population. Utilizes clinical and critical thinking skills, and evidence-based practice. Provides daily direction and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses and Nurse Assistants. Facilitates and implements learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of patients and families. Assesses learning needs and formulates and initiates teaching plans accordingly.
