Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required. Preferred experience in ECMO and CRRT. License: Must hold a valid state RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license. Certifications: Required certifications include BLS and PALS (from authorized providers). Must-Have: Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs. Open to block schedule arrangements upon manager's approval. Description: This position involves providing nursing care to pediatric patients in an intensive care setting. The unit offers care to children from 0-18 years with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. Common conditions treated include respiratory issues, trauma cases, and post-operative care. The unit employs a combination of intensive and intermediate care methodologies. The staffing mix includes Registered Nurses and Patient Care Technicians. The unit utilizes advanced medical technologies including ECMO and CRRT. The nursing staff is supported by specialists such as Respiratory Therapists and Pediatric Dietitians. This role includes responsibilities such as patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The RN will be expected to manage various complex therapies and demonstrate strong clinical skills in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be comfortable with critical care protocols and equipment. The ability to stay calm and provide high-quality care under pressure is essential.
