Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Monitor and assess patient status, including vital signs and treatment responses
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications safely and according to protocols
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including oncologists, hematologists, pharmacists, and social workers
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation according to facility standards
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effect management, and supportive care
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition
Requirements of the Travel Nurse
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in pediatric hematology/oncology or a similar specialized nursing setting
