Key Responsibilities of the Travel OR Nurse:
- Assist in all phases of perioperative nursing care including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative activities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure sterile environments are maintained
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and surgical teams during procedures
- Monitor patient status throughout surgery and respond promptly to changes
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in accordance with hospital policies
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are accounted for and sterilized
- Provide patient education and support regarding surgical procedures and recovery
Requirements of the Travel OR Nurse:
- Active Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state eligibility
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an operating room or surgical nursing setting
