Job Title: Nurse Manager, Behavioral Health Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: Contract to Hire Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum five (5) years as a Registered Nurse required. Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in psychiatry required. Minimum two (2) years of experience in a leadership role required. License: Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State required. Certifications: Basic Life Support required. ACLS required. Crisis Management (PMCS, TRUST) required. Must-Have: Critical thinking, math, and computer skills; works as a team player. Demonstrates respect and professionalism in all interactions. Excellent oral and communication skills. Experience and demonstrated competency in applicable clinical specialty. Demonstrates competence in leadership, budgetary, and administrative skills. Ability to fully utilize electronic record systems, equipment, and healthcare systems relevant to this position. Description: The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operation and clinical supervision of the nursing staff. This individual is clinically and administratively responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all activities within the inpatient service. Collaboration with the Director is critical to ensure the delivery of quality patient care that meets regulatory agency standards. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with patients, visitors, and employees. Interacts professionally and courteously with patients, visitors, and employees. Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures as they relate to the department. Collaborates with the Director on unit operations and management. Coordinates all performance improvement activities to ensure an interdisciplinary process. Utilizes appropriate benchmarks for clinical activities. Assembles and prepares data related to clinical activities and other statistical reports required by regulatory agencies. Reviews and monitors admissions and discharges to ensure appropriate clinical management. Gathers performance improvement data and meets compliance standards for regulatory agency surveys. Manages budgeting, supply, and inventory maintenance as necessary. Provides operational leadership on a 24-hour basis. Ensures that all patient care standards are met while delivering care. Oversees patient care areas to ensure clinical needs and competencies are satisfied. Participates in continuing education to increase administrative and clinical knowledge. Innovates and implements best practices in patient care. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director. Compliance with regulatory requirements is paramount.
