Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse
- Deliver specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns
- Monitor vital signs and provide respiratory, nutritional, and medication support
- Operate and manage advanced NICU equipment, including ventilators and IV pumps
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and NICU support staff
- Provide compassionate education and communication to families
- Maintain accurate, real-time documentation in accordance with hospital standards
Qualifications of the Travel Nurse
- Active RN license (Texas or Compact State)
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level III or IV NICU experience
- Strong neonatal assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Family-centered care approach in high-acuity environments
