Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience required. License: Valid RN license required. Certifications: BLS required, not expiring within 30 days of start. Must-Have: EPIC experience required. Description: Cannot have more than 3 days of requested time off. Full contract length required. Will float within the scope of care/practice. Patient ratio is 1:5-6. No local candidates accepted. May be asked to float to a sister facility 25 minutes away. Ortho diagnoses with medical overflow. No titrating drips except for heparin. Daily census averages around 40. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Elective procedures include hips, knees, shoulders, and spine. Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary. Skills required include PCA, use of rapid response/code teams, blood product administration, and wound care. Experience with total joint replacement and peripheral nerve block catheters is needed. Knowledge of isolation precautions and oxygen administration is essential.
