Job Title: Medical-Surgical Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Adult Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Valid Nursing License Required Certifications: Current BLS Certification Required Must-Have: Ability to assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision Description: Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patients and significant others while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Provides care for pediatric and adult patients before and after surgical procedures and for a broad range of medical conditions. Acts as a clinical leader and assists with precepting staff. Provides direct care for patients from admission to discharge in all aspects of care, including discharge planning. Gives direction to LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping staff, and dietary staff. Receives direction from providers, charge nurses, acute care directors, and CNOs. Holiday coverage is required.
