The patient population includes individuals with spinal, neuro, and trauma surgical needs, as well as those with gunshot injuries, quadriplegia, and paraplegia. The nursing support team includes Nursing Support Technicians, with a patient ratio of 5:1. Phlebotomy services and unit secretarial support are available at night. There is a nurse handoff process between the emergency department and the admitting unit. This role demands strong skills in high-pressure situations and effective communication within a multidisciplinary team.
