Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - Decisive judgment - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Ability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. This is a 29-bed medical-surgical unit, caring for a diverse patient population, some with telemetry orders. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. The unit is supported by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring and monitor technicians is available for those on telemetry. This facility is a Level I trauma center serving a population of all ages. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
