Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - Decisive judgment - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Capability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. This unit has a telemetry capability and cares for a diverse patient population. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. Support is provided by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available, as well as monitor technicians to monitor those on telemetry. This position serves a population of all ages. Nurses work together in teams and are supported by patient care technicians and a unit secretary. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
