Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $3,400 to $3,500 per week in Rochester, NY

Facility: Unity Hospital – Rochester Regional Health System, NY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (4x12-Hour Shifts)
Float Requirement: Yes – may float to ED boarders, ICU (stable), Med-Surg, and Acute Brain Injury units
Charting: Epic (Preferred/Required)

The Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients with acute medical, cardiac, and post-surgical conditions. The RN will assess, plan, and implement patient care using evidence-based practices while ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry RN experience

• Certifications: BLS (Required); ACLS preferred

• Charting System: Epic (Required)

• Education: ASN or BSN in Nursing

• License: Active NY State RN license (in hand prior to submission)

• Other: Must be able to float between similar units; no local candidates within 75 miles

• Unit: 2700 MS/Tele – 22 Beds

• Typical Ratios:

  • Day/Evening: 5:1 (stretch 6–7:1)

  • Nights: 6–7:1 (stretch 8–9:1)

• Common Diagnoses: Cardiac, pulmonary, pain management, GI issues, infections, unmanaged diabetes

• Equipment: Telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, EKG machines, Lifepaks

• Support Services: IV team, phlebotomy, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, social work
