Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test out will be given during the first week of assignment. This test must be passed in order to work on the telemetry/med surg unit. Description: Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to patient populations including geriatrics, medical/surgical, adults, and telemetry. Floats are a requirement in any non-critical care inpatient units, including to the emergency department if there are boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, they may occasionally be floated to critical care units. Every other weekend rotation is required. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Med/Surg ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights.
