Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 (19:30 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid NY license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - Proficient in the use of Rapid Response and Code teams - Blood product administration experience - Central line care and management skills - Peripheral line care and management experience - Proficient in starting and maintaining IVs - Competence in managing patients with CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal - Experience with non-invasive airway management, BiPAP/CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula - Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE Description: The shift will be from 19:30 to 07:30. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. The unit does not accept first-time travelers. Experience with Epic charting system is required. The patient ratios are 1:6 during the day, 1:7 at night, and 1:8 on weekends. Common patient diagnoses include COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule out. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy. Candidates must be able to float to other units as needed. Experience in a community hospital setting is preferred.
