Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS required, TNCC preferred Must-Have: - Meditech experience required - Pediatric and adult experience required - Must float to four medical units - Experience with rapid response and code teams - Familiarity with various medical skills and patient management Description: Meditech experience is required. Pediatric and adult experience is necessary. The position requires floating to four medical units, depending on patient needs. The nurse will be responsible for all surgical patients except cardiac cases. Experience with orthopedic, neurological, trauma, general surgery, and urology patients is valuable. The nurse should have skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and wound care. There will be a patient ratio of 1:6 on the unit. The daily census on the unit averages 25 to 30 patients. The patients served include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support from various teams, including IV, physical therapy, and respiratory services, is available. It is essential to adhere to isolation precautions and personal protective equipment protocols. Orientation to the unit will be provided, and familiarity with lift systems and bariatric beds is recommended.
