It is a teaching hospital for community schools of nursing. Though not a Chest Pain Center, it is part of a chest pain network. The unit has 44 beds with an average daily census of 44 patients. Patient types focus primarily on cardiac conditions such as chest pain, myocardial infarction, N-STEMI, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, medical overflow, and potential stroke patients. Patient ratios are RN 1:4-5 and LPN/CNA 1:4-5, with CNA support for activities of daily living and patient care. The nursing team receives support from charge nurses, resource nurses, and a centralized telemetry monitoring department. The team utilizes various technology and equipment, including an electronic medical record system and telemetry monitors. Traveling to different facilities within the region may be required to meet staffing needs, and travel time will be compensated.
