Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of MedSurg/Tele RN experience required License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General Med/Tele skillset - Cardiac rhythm interpretation expertise - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips - Skilled in care of patients with tubes/drains - Proficient in IV start skills and blood product administration - Wound care and dressing change experience Description: RN - MedSurg/Tele position available. Interest in Clinical Interviewing is welcomed. First-time travelers are accepted. Average patient census is 51 per day. Patient types include those with chronic diseases, CHF, mental health, addiction services, COPD, diabetes, wounds, and geriatric care. Patient ratios are RN: 1:4-6, acuity dependent, with potential surge times increasing to 1:7-8. CNA ratio is 1:7. Support within the department includes a Nurse Manager, Administrative Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, staff RNs, CNA, Clinical Mentor, Rapid Response RN, and House Supervisor. Technology and equipment include EMR, scales, GBS machines, transfer devices, vein finders, EKGs, crash carts, language interpreters, and telemedicine carts for online assessments. Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice. Travelers will float as needed and will be compensated for travel time. Orientation includes two days of departmental training. Weekend rotation is every other weekend. Holidays: Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Requesting time off can be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays. Schedule cycle is six weeks.
