Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS preferred but not required Must-Have: - Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) with manager approval if no experience - General medical/surgical skillset for patient care with tubes/drains - IV start skills - Blood products administration - Wound care/dressing changes Description: RN position in MedSurg/Telemetry. The facility has 337 licensed beds. It is not a trauma designation or teaching hospital. The unit has 34 beds with an average census of 32, plus 3 surge rooms. This unit predominantly serves medical patients, with few surgical patients. Starting Spring 2026, hematology/oncology patients will be included, and travelers must be comfortable caring for these patients. Patient ratios are RN: Days 1:5; Nights 1:6 (critical surge 1:7-8). Support within the department includes a CNA with a ratio of 1:12 for patient care, a receptionist/HUC available 24/7 to validate EKGs, charge nurses, phlebotomy services, dedicated pharmacists, case managers, and a clinical nurse specialist. Telemetry monitoring is available with tech support. Technology includes EMR and IV pumps. Travelers may be required to float within designated regions and will be compensated for travel time between facilities if floating mid-shift.
