Shift: 6:10 AM – 7:30 PM (13-hour shifts)
Duration: Minimum 6 months from projected start date
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to individuals in a healthcare or institutional setting. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, medication administration, treatment implementation, and monitoring patient progress while ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide professional nursing care to patients in inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Observe, assess, and document patient symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Conduct routine nursing rounds and monitor patient conditions.
- Take and record vital signs.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and immunizations.
- Implement physician-ordered treatment plans.
Monitoring & Emergency Response
- Monitor patients requiring observation or restrictive supervision.
- Respond to medical emergencies by providing first aid and initiating appropriate medical response.
- Coordinate patient transport to emergency care when required.
- Communicate with physicians regarding patient conditions and necessary interventions.
Clinical Procedures
Perform specialized nursing procedures including:
- IV therapy
- Wound care
- Oxygen therapy
- Blood transfusions
- Dialysis support
- Tube feeding
- Catheterization
- Suctioning
- Phlebotomy
- CPR and other life-saving interventions
Care Coordination
- Develop and review patient care plans.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients.
- Assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations.
- Coordinate medical referrals and follow-up appointments.
Leadership & Team Support
- Provide guidance and direction to healthcare staff including nursing assistants and practical nurses.
- Assist with scheduling and oversight of assigned staff when needed.
- Participate in staff development and training programs.
- Orient and mentor new employees.
Documentation & Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate medical records including treatments, medications, and patient care notes.
- Complete required reports such as incident and accident documentation.
- Maintain inventory and tracking of medications, supplies, and controlled substances.
- Coordinate prescription processing and refills through pharmacy providers.
- Order medical supplies and equipment as needed.
- Participate in meetings, committees, and problem-solving teams.
