Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long Term Care (LTC) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: 2+ years in Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing Facility, or Medical-Surgical setting License: Active MI RN license Certifications: BLS AHA Must-Have: Completed at least '1' successful travel assignment as an RN Description: Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility policies and procedures. Prepares equipment and aids physicians during treatments and examinations of residents. Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor and physician of residents' conditions and reactions to medications, treatments, and significant incidents. Takes vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of residents. Assigns duties and coordinates nursing services on the resident unit to ensure residents' needs are met in accordance with physician instructions and facility regulations. Consults with supervisors on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure the needs of residents are met. Reports all complaints or unusual problems to supervisors. Assists with the completion of facility complaint reports. Participates in orientation, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel. Evaluates nursing activities to ensure quality of resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. Observes nursing care and visits residents to ensure that care is administered according to instructions. Assumes responsibility for the documentation of admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports per facility policies. Participates in the care plan process and completes nursing assessments and resident care plans accurately and timely for assigned residents. Completes special projects and audits under the direction of supervisors. Maintains all educational requirements for the state to keep licenses current. Attends facility in-services and ward conferences as assigned. Maintains resident confidentiality; treats residents with kindness, dignity, and respect; complies with all residents' rights rules; and promptly reports all resident accidents and injuries.
