Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Must possess a valid state license Certifications: ACLS, Advanced AWHONN, BCLS, NRP, C-EFM (in lieu of Advanced AWHONN) Must-Have: - Precepting skills preferred - Ability to float to postpartum/mother-baby unit - Experience with newborn care - Capability to perform non-stress tests - Ability to set up a delivery table Description: Must be flexible with weekends. Looking for a strong caregiver who can support the AM shift. First-timers are accepted. Weekend requirements depend on the length of the contract. On-call duty is not required. This position may require floating to mother-baby units. Local candidates are accepted. Pending licenses are not accepted. RTO must be included at the time of submission. Guaranteed hours: The facility is able to call off once per two-week pay period. The facility has 356 staffed beds. Daily census is between 210-240 births per month. Patient demographics include neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults. Patient diagnoses encompass low and high-risk labor patients, antepartum with multiples, hypertensive disorders, and diabetic conditions. Obstetricians follow AWHONN standards for patient ratios: 1:1 for active labor, no more than 2 for early labor. Candidates who possess prior precepting experience tend to adapt more effectively to the pace and develop stronger patient management skills. Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state. Refusal to float may result in assignment termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours. Communication devices needed for the duties will be supplied by the client at no cost. Completion of mandatory modules is required prior to starting and annually thereafter.
