Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years is required. License: Must have a valid state license in hand. Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Must have expert experience and be able to perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision. Must have experience with triage of obstetrical patients. Must have experience with Epic charting. Must be open to working weekends and floating to mother-baby unit. Description: The Labor and Delivery unit provides care to patients during labor and delivery. The average daily census includes 6-8 deliveries per day. Patient ratios are typically 1:2. Candidates must have experience with antepartum care, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care. Skilled nursing in procedures including fetal heart monitoring, administering medications, and assisting with high-risk deliveries is required. Familiarity with infant care and assessments is necessary. Candidates will be involved in the administration of IV fluids and blood products. Emergency responses including postpartum hemorrhage and other complications must be well understood. Candidates are expected to advocate for patient needs including lactation support and postpartum education. Experience with various delivery methods including vaginal and Cesarean sections is essential. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care is required. Candidates must follow all safety protocols and infection control measures.
